Mocoore Dental CAD

Dental CAD file requirements.

A practical checklist for preparing de-identified dental CAD files after business scope and a transfer method have been agreed.

Scans and case references

Prepare the relevant arch and preparation scans, opposing arch and bite information. Use a lab-generated case reference rather than a patient name. Identify missing or uncertain scan regions instead of leaving the designer to infer them.

Prescription and preferences

State the restoration type, tooth positions, material and intended output. Include margin guidance, design preferences and approved references. For implant work, identify the system, scan body and library requirements.

Format and transfer

STL, PLY, OBJ or native projects may be suitable depending on the workflow; confirm compatibility first. Do not submit files through the public inquiry form. Use the agreed channel and remove patient-identifying details before transfer.

Before the design begins

Confirm that the files belong to the same case and version. Keep the original scans, identify the decision-maker for questions and agree how replacement scans or changed instructions affect scope and delivery.
